Constructed of 5052 aluminum sheet, 6061 extrusions and steel tube the Dragon chassis is extremely stiff in terms of chassis loads, while maintaining crush zones in the front, rear and sides for safety of the driver and the basic car.
An interesting feature of the monocoque is the fabricated 6061 front bulkhead assembly which mounts the fully adjustable steering (height, rake, length) as well as the upper and lower suspension and spring/shock units.
Front suspension is double A arm with pull rod spring shock units.
Rear suspension is also double A with pushrod spring/shock. Camber adjusters are located outboard on the lower arms for each corner. Toe links are high in the front and rear. Due to the location of the adjustments, they do not conflict with each other, making alignment a breeze.
Uprights are fabricated at Small Fortune Racing. Each upright is machined from 6061 aluminum. Front uprights mount Chrome Molybdenum stub axles and aluminum hubs with tapered bearings. Rear uprights use a standard large diameter dual row bearing and drive flange.
